In late February, Summerfield Associates President Dotty Giusti was one of roughly 100 investors from the Greater Memphis Chamber who traveled to Nashville for the annual MEM2NASH legislative visit. MEM2NASH  is an opportunity to bring the business priorities of the Memphis area to state legislators, the Governor, and his cabinet. This year marked the largest gathering of Memphis business leaders that the Chamber has taken to Nashville yet.

The Greater Memphis Chamber focuses on providing economic growth for all Memphians. From upskilling Memphians for in-demand jobs, to addressing policy in order to expand affordable childcare, the Chamber works to break barriers to business growth and create long-term strategies for development.

MEM2NASH kicked off with a policy briefing breakfast. Ted Townsend, Greater Memphis Chamber President, offered welcoming remarks and Bobby White, the Chamber’s Chief Government Affairs Officer, gave an overview of the two-day event. Memphis Mayor Paul Young and Tennessee State Senator Brent Taylor offered opening remarks.

Greater Memphis Chamber investors went on to meet with Tennessee legislators and members of the Shelby County delegation to discuss pending bills covering public safety, judicial transparency, development districts, workforce readiness, and more.
“I am proud to be a member of the Greater Memphis Chamber,” Dotty said, “and am pleased with our commitment to advocate for Memphians at the Tennessee capitol. I look forward to seeing legislation pass that supports Memphis as an attractive destination and prospering community for locals and visitors alike.”
